2008  Alamosa, Colorado state health officials warn residents to stop drinking and cooking with tap water after samples proved to have salmonella contamination.

2012  Israel passes the ‘Photoshop Law’, which bans the showing of overly thin models in local advertising in an attempt to fight the spread of eating disorders.

2012  Wendy’s becomes the 2nd largest hamburger chain in the USA, overtaking Burger King.  McDonald’s remains number one based on 2011 sales.
